A European vacation could never be complete without a stop in Hamburg, one of Germany’s oldest and most vibrant cities. Our representative will greet you on arrival in Hamburg in an air-conditioned bus, and the fun begins! The fully-guided tour will begin with St. Pauli Landing’s bridges and piers, a city icon which is part of the harbour and near the famous fish market. These days it is a top tourist attraction and gateway to the rest of the city. Next up is St. Michel’s Church, the most iconic of the city’s five major Lutheran churches. Hamburg is inseparable from its Lutheran heritage, something you’ll experience firsthand. Above the door of St. Michael’s Church is a bronze statue depicting the archangel defeating Satan. Additionally, the church’s 132-meter Baroque spire dominates the city’s skyline and has long served as a signal for ships sailing into the city from the Elbe. Our guide will also show you the City Hall, finished in 1897 at a cost of 11 million Deutsch marks, a staggering sum for the time. It is one of Hamburg’s proudest attractions. Next you’ll soak in the unusual aura of the Speicherstadt located within the city’s port. It is the world’s largest warehouse district to be constructed out of timber. And of course a sojourn in Hamburg must include a relaxing visit to Inner Alster Lake, a popular destination among residents where one can enjoy a pleasant stroll around the lake, a picnic or a game of chess with friends.
